The coaches had an opportunity to go to Barren River Lake in Kentucky over spring break to fish in the Kentucky Skeeter/Yamaha Dealer Invitational Tournament. We had a great time learning how to fish completely different water than we are used to. Bluff walls, mud flats, and dirty river system water is not like the crystal clear water we fish here in Michigan. However, we were able to make the cut with a 45th place finish on Day 1, and we improved our positioning on Day 2 and finished 38th place in the 137 boat field.
We were proud of our finish considering almost the whole field was from Kentucky and familiar with Barren River Lake. We are looking forward to applying what we learned to our fishing in Michigan and teaching the team from our experiences in Kentucky.
We will have the boys out on the water in no time (assuming this winter weather will break sometime soon)!
